I will make every effort to return your call as quickly as possible, except for weekends and holidays where there may be additional delays. If you are difficult to reach, please let me know when you are available.
Once you have started treatment with me, I am available between sessions if you are in crisis.
If you require immediate attention or are experiencing an emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
I do not use unencrypted email (e.g., Gmail) to communicate with clients. The only exceptions are using unencrypted email to send Zoom meeting invitations for virtual appointments or emails regarding general office policies or practices, as such communication does not contain confidential protected health information. I use encrypted email (Hushmail) on my website for initial contact and to send or receive initial paperwork and consent forms.
Texting
I use texting with established clients for administrative purposes only (scheduling, billing questions). I do not discuss confidential, therapeutic issues with clients via text.
If a client texts me about a therapeutic issue, this will become a part of the clinical record.
