Fees & Forms of Payment
The cost of initial appointments is $180.00. My 50-minute session rate is $160.00. I will send a complete list of fees with the initial paperwork. I accept payment in cash, check, or debit/credit card.
I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare, UnitedHealthcare-Student Resources (student insurance), Aetna, and Cigna.
If you have another insurance provider, you will need to submit claims on your own for reimbursement. These claims will be submitted as an out-of-network expense. At the end of our session, I will provide you with a bill that you can submit to your insurance company for partial reimbursement.
Some clients elect to pay out-of-pocket for psychotherapy services. There may be certain advantages to seeking treatment that does not involve your insurance carrier. Insurance carriers determine which providers you may see, how much treatment you may receive, and may require that I release confidential information regarding your treatment (e.g., diagnosis, treatment provided to process claims, or a copy of your records in the case of an insurance audit).
For these and other reasons (e.g., administrative time spent processing claims), many therapists are electing not to participate in insurance panels. I will make every effort to release only the most basic information necessary to process your claim. Please note, any information provided to an insurance carrier will become a part of their confidential data bank.
Missing Appointments, Late Cancelations, & Attending Sessions on Time.
I ask that clients provide 24-hour advance notice if they are unable to keep an appointment with me. If you are unable to attend a session and it is not a true emergency, you will be charged a fee (up to $160.00) for not showing for a scheduled appointment without reaching out to my office. If you anticipate being unable to keep an appointment, please contact me at least one day, or 24 hours, prior to your scheduled appointment time.
